Elizabeth
Kelley Nielsen, 57, of Pleasant Grove passed away Wednesday, April
3, 2002 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, due to complications
of kidney failure. She was born, the oldest of 12 children, on
August 31, 1944 in West Union, West Virginia to Eustace &
Margret Sutton Kelley.
Beth
grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended school there. She graduated
from Pleasant Grove High School in 1962. Beth enjoyed her position
as financial secretary at Pleasant Grove Junior High School and most
recently at TCM Digital Solutions in Provo. Beth held many LDS
Church positions during her life including Relief Society President,
Stake Primary President, Stake Librarian, and numerous teaching
positions. Many friends and relatives were recipients of her
beautiful needlework.
In
1996, Beth received the gracious gift of life through a liver
transplant. She was a strong advocate of the donor program and
participated as a donor after her death.
She
is survived by five children: Michelle Kortman-Tufaro, Somerville,
NJ; Kelley (Natalie) Kortman, New Canaan, CT; Jonathan Kortman and
Lyndsey Kortman, Pleasant Grove; Elder Christopher Kortman,
currently serving in the Tampa, Florida Mission; six grandchildren.
Additional survivors include her mother Margret (Ben) Miller,
Pleasant Grove; eleven siblings: Christine Kelley, Lynda Slater, Jim
Kelley, Robert Kelley, Becky Pierce, Kevin Kelley, Jeri Kelley, Kim
Robinson, Brett Kelley, Mark Kelley, Nancy
Kelley.
Beth
was preceded in death by her father and granddaughter, Lauren
Elizabeth Kortman.
Funeral
services will be held Monday, April 8, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the
Pleasant Grove East Stake Center, 825 S. Loader Drive, Pleasant
Grove. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family
Mortuary, 494 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on
Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant
Grove City Cemetery. |
