Lillian Helen Herbst Clapp

 

 

Riverton - Funeral Services for Lillian Helen Clapp, 69, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton by David Holman.  Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.

 

She died November 18, 2003 at Mountain Towers Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cheyenne.

 

Born March 7, 1934, in Riverton, she was the daughter of Frank Joseph and Helen (Konig) Herbst; lived in Shoshoni; and graduated from Fremont County Vocation High School in 1954. 

 

In September 1956, she married Donald Clapp at the Lander Seventh-day Adventist Church.  They moved to Pavillion and worked on a dairy farm.  Later, the family moved to Lander, where they owned another dairy farm.

 

A homemaker and member of the Seventh-day Adventists, she was active in social gatherings and after-church functions.  She loved making quilts and playing her accordion for church socials.

 

Survivors include two sons, Alex Clapp and his wife of Lander, Donald Eugene Clapp of Riverton;  four daughers, Shirley Cassell of Lander, Lethea Henderson and her husband of Laramie, Patsy Christian and her husband of Cheyenne, and Ruth Irene Dailey and her husband of Utah;  brother Joe Herbst of Lander; three sisters, Joan Herbst of Shoshoni, Mary Ann Campbell and her husband of Lander and Francena Davis of Milpitis, California;  five grandchildren;  and two great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and niece.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, in care of Davis Funeral Home.
